Trudy Rice is a Melbourne-based artist and printmaker whose work reflects a deep connection to the natural world.

Specialising in solar plate etching and monotype, she brings her subjects to life through delicate, layered compositions that celebrate the intricate beauty of flora, fauna, and landscapes.

Graduating with an Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft from CAE in 2012, Trudy’s environmentally conscious practice honours the landscapes she captures, using sustainable materials and processes to reflect her commitment to preservation. Inspired by the gardens, birdlife, and timeless forms of ancient rock formations and ruins, her work is a poetic exploration of nature’s resilience and harmony.

Renowned for her evocative depictions of birds and natural environments, Trudy’s art has been showcased in exhibitions across Australia, including representation by Queenscliff Gallery. She has been a finalist in prestigious awards such as the Burnie Print Prize, the Firestation Print Studio Monoprint Prize, and the Castlemaine Museums Experimental Print Prize.
